Most men’s pants are labeled 2–4 inches smaller than the true waist measurement, which leads to incorrect kilt sizing if used as a reference. Utility styles use different adjustment systems depending on the model (such as snap waists, side buckles, comfort waist panels, or Velcro closures), and the size ordered reflects the base measurement for that specific style.
