How To Measure for a Utility Kilt

Measure every time!

Using pants size or other kilt sizing will result in a kilt that does not fit correctly.

GlenLoch, GlenCrae, GlenTorin Utility Kilts

Order the size you measure. If you’re between sizes, order down for a snug fit or up for a looser fit. Each kilt has two snap settings to adjust 1 inch up or down.

Ultimate Utility Kilts

Order the size you measure. If you’re between sizes, go down (e.g. a 37″ waist should order size 36). Each kilt has two snap settings for a 1-inch adjustment up or down. Plus, the flexible comfort waist expands up to 2 inches beyond whichever snap setting you’re using—giving you added flexibility and comfort.

Wild Horizon and Athlete Utility Kilts

Order your measured waist size. The adjustable Velcro waist allows for a comfortable fit, even if you’re between sizes—either sizing up or down will still work.

Estimating Utility Kilt Size from Pants

If you cannot measure the person directly, measure the waistband of a pair of pants that fits them well. The actual waistband will usually measure 3–4 inches larger than the labeled jeans size, although smaller sizes may be closer to 2 inches larger.

If you cannot take any measurements, a reasonable estimate is to choose a kilt two sizes larger than their jeans size—for example, a 40-inch jeans size would suggest a size 44 kilt.

This is only an estimate. Measuring the person directly will always provide the most accurate fit.

  • Durable Cotton-Polyester Fabric: Built to handle daily wear while staying comfortable and breathable.
  • Multiple Functional Pockets: Large cargo-style pockets provide plenty of space for tools, gear, or daily essentials.
  • Front Apron Snap Closure: Three secure snaps on the front apron offer easy fastening while maintaining a clean, streamlined look.
  • Adjustable Fit with Waist Snaps: Three sets of waist snaps allow size adjustment up or down by 1 inch for a better fit.
  • Simplified Design – No Side Buckle Straps: Eliminates the side straps for a cleaner, low-profile fit without sacrificing stability.
  • Reinforced Stitching: Heavy-duty stitching throughout ensures long-lasting durability.
  • Versatile Utility: Perfect for work, casual wear, events, or everyday use — built for real life.

Measure where you plan to wear the kilt — either at the navel or lower near the hips. Do not use your pants size, as men’s pants are typically labeled 2–4 inches smaller than actual body measurements.

If your measurement is an even number (38, 40, etc.), order that size.

If your measurement falls between sizes, order down for a snug fit or up for a looser fit.

Each size includes adjustable snaps, allowing for about 1 inch of adjustment up or down.
