Size Chart

It is very important that you measure carefully so we can get the correct size for your jacket. Please take the time to watch the video above — it will help you measure correctly and avoid issues with custom sizing.

  • Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, going under your arms and keeping the tape level across your back. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight. Do not inflate your chest while measuring — stand naturally and relaxed.
  • Waist: Measure around the largest part of your midsection, usually right at the belly button. For many people, this will be the same as their traditional kilt waist measurement, since traditional kilts are also measured at the natural waist. However, if your kilt sits lower (common with utility kilts), this jacket waist measurement may be different. Always measure the biggest part of your midsection to ensure the jacket can button comfortably.
  • Shoulder to Shoulder: Measure straight across the back from the outer edge of one shoulder to the outer edge of the other, following the natural shoulder line. If you have a jacket that fits well, you can measure seam-to-seam across the back as a visual reference. This measurement usually requires another person to help so it stays level.
  • Sleeves: Measure from the top of the shoulder (where a shoulder seam would sit) down the outside of your arm to the point on your wrist or hand where you want the sleeve to end. Keep your arm relaxed at your side for an accurate measurement.
  • Total Length: Start at the base of your neck (where a collar would sit) and measure down to the top of your kilt. Then add about 5–6 inches to ensure:

    1. the jacket extends just slightly past the top of the kilt (shorter than a standard suit coat), and
    2. the vest covers roughly 2 inches past the top of the kilt for proper appearance.

Example: If you measure 21 inches to the top of your kilt, the final jacket length would be around 26–27 inches.
